District 9 Hosts Halloween Blood Drive: “We Want Your Blood”

Councilwoman encourages residents to give the gift of life.

SAN ANTONIO (October 29, 2025) – Following an incredible turnout at the #KerrUnited Blood Drive earlier this year, where every appointment slot was filled and dozens of lives were impacted, Councilwoman Misty Spears and the District 9 team are once again asking residents to roll up their sleeves for a great cause, this time with a Halloween twist.

The “We Want Your Blood” Halloween Blood Drive will take place on Friday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 16500 San Pedro Avenue, 72232 (Frost Bank parking lot). Residents are encouraged to schedule their appointment in advance here. Walk-ins will be accepted as space allows.

“Our community continues to show up in meaningful ways,” said Councilwoman Spears. “At our last event, we filled every available time slot, collecting 26 units of blood, enough to directly impact 78 lives. We are proud of that generosity, and we are ready to do it again.”

The event is hosted in partnership with University Health. Costumes are welcome, and all donors will receive a special Halloween treat as a thank you for their donation.

“Blood donations often dip during the fall and holiday months, but the need remains constant,” Spears added. “This is a simple, powerful way to help save lives and support families across San Antonio.”
