SAN ANTONIO (July 24, 2025) – In response to the devastating floods that swept through Kerr County on July 4th, District 9 City Councilmember Misty Spears is partnering with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center and Frost Bank to host a community blood drive in San Antonio.

The drive will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Frost Bank – District 9 Bloodmobile, 16500 San Pedro, 78232.

This initiative aims to replenish depleted local blood supplies and offer a tangible way for San Antonians to support their neighbors. Donations will directly impact patients in need due to canceled drives and increased demand following the floods.

#KerrUnited is a call to action for San Antonio residents to contribute to recovery efforts in the wake of disaster and honor the resilience of Kerr County. According to Stridehealth.com, every pint of blood donated can help save up to three lives.

“Flood victims in Kerr County are facing unimaginable loss,” Councilmember Spears said. “In moments like these, every act of care matters. Donating blood is a simple yet powerful way to give hope and healing to someone in crisis.”

Residents are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance to ensure availability and efficient service. Walk-ups will be accommodated as space allows. Complimentary cookies will be available from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by paletas from noon to 2 p.m. The refreshments are provided by Frost Bank.
