District 8 Councilmember and Staff Volunteer to Aid Families Facing Food Insecurity
SAN ANTONIO (November 3, 2025) – Due to the uncertainties in federal assistance programs, Councilmember Ivalis Meza Gonzalez and the District 8 Office will dedicate their time volunteering with the San Antonio Food Bank to support families struggling to put food on the table. As the demand for food assistance continues to rise, the Food Bank’s work remains invaluable in ensuring that no San Antonian goes hungry.
“Thousands of San Antonians will feel the impact of the federal program uncertainty,” said the District 8 Councilmember. “No one should have to choose between paying a bill and putting dinner on the table. The San Antonio Food Bank has always been there for our community in times of need, and we must show up for them.”
The District 8 Office invites residents to volunteer alongside our team to help prepare, distribute, and organize food for local families. In addition to giving their time, community members are encouraged to donate to the San Antonio Food Bank, whose mission remains invaluable to the well-being and dignity of the community.
