District 8 Councilmember Launches Replacement Anti-Theft Mailbox Program for Neighborhood Associations

SAN ANTONIO (October 21, 2025) – The District 8 Councilmember is proud to launch the Replacement Anti-Theft Mailbox Program (RAMP) — a pilot grant initiative designed to help registered neighborhood associations replace cluster mailboxes vulnerable to break-ins and improve security around mail areas. The program aims to modernize outdated infrastructure, deter criminal activity, and reduce the strain on public safety resources caused by recurring mailbox theft.

“Residents deserve to feel secure in their own neighborhoods,” said Councilmember Ivalis Meza Gonzalez. “We all want the peace of mind that comes with knowing our personal information and deliveries are safe. With RAMP, we’re not only upgrading infrastructure; we’re strengthening trust, safety, and collaboration between neighbors.”

Neighborhood associations interested in applying for the grant can review eligibility requirements and application details at the City’s website. For additional information or assistance with the application process, contact the District 8 Office at District8@sanantonio.gov.

Councilmember Meza Gonzalez emphasized that RAMP reflects District 8’s proactive approach to public safety. “This program is a small but meaningful step toward building safer, more connected neighborhoods across District 8,” she said.
