SAN ANTONIO (February 13, 2026) – City Council District 6 is proud to introduce “Pláticas,” a new community conversation series designed to bring community members together for open, meaningful dialogue on issues that matter most to residents.

The inaugural Plática will focus on education and will feature Dr. Sonia Jasso, Northside ISD Board Trustee. The event will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on February 19, 2026, at Zachry Middle School (9410 Timber Path, 78250). This is an opportunity for families to ask questions, share feedback, and engage in constructive dialogue about public education in San Antonio.

Attendees can connect directly with educational and family support resources provided by Student Support Services of Northside Independent School District and the City of San Antonio. The event is free and open to public, and welcomes families of all ages. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

“As our City embarks on strengthening our public schools, our students, families and educators must be central to the conversation,” said Councilmember Ric Galvan. “This conversation will ensure our students and families know what support is available now, as well as for our residents to have a voice in the future of public education.”
