SAN ANTONIO (December 8, 2025) – On Saturday, December 6, Councilmember Castillo welcomed more than 300 residents for a festive “Noche en el Barrio” Holiday Pachanga at the San Martin de Porres Catholic Church Hall. The annual celebration brought neighbors together for an afternoon of community, connection, and holiday cheer.
Families enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the event, including a children’s pajama contest, an ugly sweater contest for adults, gingerbread house decorating, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and pictures with Santa. Music filled the room all afternoon, and children lined up with excitement to take a turn at the holiday piñata. The celebration also featured a special lowrider showcase, dancing, raffles, and delicious food.
Councilwoman Castillo shared gratitude for the strong turnout and the community spirit on full display. “Noche en el Barrio is a special holiday event meant to bring families together, celebrate community, and create joyful memories this season, all while uplifting the beautiful culture we share in District 5,” said Castillo. “We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and to all of our partners who helped make this event a success.”
The District 5 Office extends a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and partners who supported this year’s celebration, with a special thank you to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for generously hosting the event. District 5 looks forward to continuing this beloved tradition and celebrating the holiday season with the community for years to come.
