District 5 Celebrates Successful Community Food Drive at Impacto Comunitario

SAN ANTONIO (November 17, 2025) – District 5 is celebrating a strong show of community solidarity following Saturday’s Food Drive at Impacto Comunitario, where residents and neighbors came together to support families facing ongoing food insecurity.

The event brought in enough donations to fully restock Pastora Liliana Padilla’s food pantry and expand its capacity heading into the holiday season. From nonperishable food items to essentials and pet supplies, the generosity of District 5 residents was evident throughout the day.

Councilmember Teri Castillo thanked everyone who contributed, emphasizing that the spirit of community is what drives District 5 forward. “Our community continues to show up for one another,” said Councilmember Castillo. “With rising costs and ongoing uncertainty for many families, these donations make a real difference. I’m grateful to everyone who stepped up to support the work at Impacto Comunitario and Pastora Liliana Padilla’s food pantry.

Pastora Liliana Padilla shared that she was extremely grateful and sends a strong, heartfelt thank you to every neighbor who came out, donated, and helped ensure the pantry can continue serving families in need.

District 5 reminds residents that donations don’t have to stop here. Community members can continue to drop off nonperishable food items and pet food at Impacto Comunitario year-round to help keep local families supported.
