SAN ANTONIO (January 22, 2025) – On January 20, San Antonio gathered to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a powerful and inspiring MLK March, reaffirming a collective commitment to justice, equality, and the continued fight for civil rights.

As the crowd moved forward, they echoed Dr. King’s call for freedom, equality, and the dignity of every individual — principles that remain at the heart of the movement today.

“My staff and I marched because we are still striving for the world Dr. King envisioned, a world where every woman, every child, and every person of color has an equal opportunity to thrive,” said District 3 Councilmember Phyllis Viagran.

“San Antonio’s MLK March illustrates that the fight for equality is not just a moment but a movement that continues to evolve with each generation,” the Councilmember continued. “This serves as a reminder that the road ahead may be long, but the path is one we will walk together — with courage, with hope, and with the unshakeable belief that equality is not just an ideal, but a necessity.”
