District 3 Councilmember Lauds Passage of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget

The budget reflects a continued commitment to the South and Southeast side of San Antonio. 


SAN ANTONIO (September 18, 2025) — Councilmember Viagran proudly applauds the passage of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget. This significant financial commitment reflects the dedication to fostering sustainable growth, enhancing community resources, and prioritizing equitable opportunities for all San Antonians. 

“I want to extend heartfelt thanks to my colleagues on City Council, our dedicated City staff, and the countless District 3 residents and neighborhood associations in the community who advocated for their needs throughout this budget process. Your voices were heard, and this balanced budget reflects our collective vision for a thriving San Antonio,” said the Councilmember.

Key highlights of the FY 2025 Capital and Operating budget include: 

  • No change in the City Property Tax Rate 
  • Investments in public safety 
  • Animal Care Services added services  
  • Support for homeless encampment cleanup 

Adopted budget highlights for District 3 include a total of $65 million: 

  • $15.2 million in Infrastructure Management Program
  • $11.7 million in fire station replacements
  • $7.1 million in public safety  
  • $4.4 million in street improvements 
  • $1.1 million in park improvements (shade structures at Conception, Highland, and Southside Lions Park)

Together, the work towards building an inclusive San Antonio continues.
