San Antonio celebrates Digital Inclusion Week.
SAN ANTONIO (October 9, 2025) – Today, District 3 Councilmember Phyllis Viagran is proud to announce the official proclamation of Digital Inclusion Week, taking place from October 6 through 10, 2025. This week-long observance highlights the critical importance of reliable, affordable high-speed internet, access to devices, and digital skills as essential to full participation in education, employment, healthcare, public services, and civic life.
“Reliable internet and digital tools have become fundamental drivers of economic opportunity and social mobility,” shared the Councilmember. “They enable residents to pursue quality jobs, access training and credentialing, launch and grow small businesses, utilize telehealth services, and engage fully in community life.”
The Councilmember invites the community to join the SA Digital Connects Community Meeting. This event is free to the community tomorrow, Friday, October 10, at Girls Inc. San Antonio from noon to 3:30 p.m.
“Bridging the digital divide remains a top priority for our community, addressing issues of equity, public health, workforce readiness, and local economic development. This challenge requires coordinated, sustained action from government, philanthropy, the private sector, educational institutions, and community-based organizations,” the Councilmember added.
“The City of San Antonio and Bexar County encourage residents, businesses, community organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to observe Digital Inclusion Week by raising awareness, participating in local events, and supporting efforts to expand access, skills, and opportunities for all.”
