District 10 Councilmember Voices Support for Property Tax Exemption for Businesses
SAN ANTONIO (May 1, 2025) – Yesterday, the San Antonio City Council was informed that the City registered a position in opposition to SB 32, a personal property tax exemption bill pending before the Texas Legislature that is designed to lessen the tax burden on businesses in the State of Texas.
Councilmember Whyte stated, “I’m extremely disappointed in the City for opposing SB 32. San Antonio’s economy is built upon small businesses. All reasonable measures that can be taken to lessen the tax burden on our citizens or businesses should be welcomed by our City – not opposed. Moving forward, I will continue to fight to have our City government take a more business-friendly approach, as anything that we can do to help our businesses thrive will be a benefit to all San Antonians.”
