D10 Councilman Supports Ordinance to Prevent Animal Abandonment

SAN ANTONIO (September 11, 2025) – Councilmember Whyte today voiced strong support for the City Council’s passage of an ordinance that strengthens penalties for animal abandonment in San Antonio

The District 10 Councilmember expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their collaboration on the ordinance, calling its approval “a key step forward in improving public safety and ensuring the fair and humane treatment of animals.” The Councilmember added, “This ordinance makes clear that our city values compassion and accountability.
