District 10 Councilmember Submits Council Consideration Request Proposing the Creation of a Spurs Arena Project Accountability Dashboard

SAN ANTONIO (December 11, 2025) – District 10 Councilmember Marc Whyte and District 5 Councilmember Teri Castillo jointly filed a Council Consideration Request (CCR) proposing the creation of a Spurs Arena Project Accountability Dashboard, a publicly accessible online tool designed to track the implementation, financing, and delivery of commitments associated with the new downtown Spurs arena.

“With such a significant investment of public dollars, residents deserve clear visibility into how their dollars are being spent and how commitments are being kept,” said Councilmember Whyte. “This dashboard is about accountability, transparency, and ensuring every promise made to the residents of San Antonio and Bexar County is delivered.”

The CCR requests that the City Manager develop a comprehensive, regularly updated dashboard providing the public with key information on project progress. The tool would offer construction updates, notifications on design changes, and financial reporting on all City and County expenditures related to the arena project.

Councilmember Whyte emphasized that the initiative reflects a shared commitment to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and stated, “Taxpayer money must only be spent efficiently and transparently. This dashboard will allow every resident to follow the project step-by-step—from construction to community impact.”
