SAN ANTONIO (March 19, 2025) - Today, San Antonio City Councilmember Marc Whyte represented the City of San Antonio and testified before the Texas House Committee on Delivery of Government Efficiency, expressing strong support for House Bill 150, establishing the Texas Cyber Command Center in San Antonio.

"San Antonio's robust cybersecurity ecosystem and military presence make our city the ideal location for the Texas Cyber Command Center," stated Councilmember Whyte. "This initiative would not only strengthen Texas's cybersecurity infrastructure but also create high-skilled jobs and economic opportunities for our community."

San Antonio has established itself as a major cybersecurity hub, hosting significant assets including NSA Texas, Joint Base San Antonio, the 16th Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), and a growing ecosystem of cybersecurity firms.

"The establishment of the Texas Cyber Command Center in San Antonio would leverage our city's existing expertise and infrastructure while reinforcing Texas's position as a leader in cybersecurity innovation," the Councilmember added.

The proposed center would enhance the state's ability to protect critical infrastructure and respond to cyber threats while creating new opportunities for public-private partnerships in the cybersecurity sector.
