SAN ANTONIO (March 11, 2026) – Councilmember Dr. Sukh Kaur and the District 1 Office will host a community Pet Block Party, a pet-centered event offering services and resources to support responsible pet ownership. The event will take place on Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the District 1 Field Office (1507 McCullough Ave., Suite A-7).

The celebration will provide pet vaccinations and microchipping services to the first 100 animals on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for these services must be completed on-site. Attendees can also enjoy pet-themed swag giveaways from participating vendors and resources for keeping pets healthy and safe.

“This event is a great opportunity for residents to take care of their pets and connect with neighbors,” said Councilmember Dr. Kaur. “We want to make basic pet care more accessible and celebrate the important role pets play in our families and communities.”

In addition to services provided by San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS), event sponsors include Footbridge Foundation and the Spay Neuter Network.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with Councilmember Dr. Kaur and the District 1 team to remove barriers to responsible pet care,” said SAACS Director Jon Gary. “By meeting people where they are and providing services like vaccinations, microchips, and supplies, we can help more pets stay healthy and families stay whole. That translates into a safer, more humane San Antonio.”

Residents are encouraged to bring their dogs or cats, along with the pet’s records, to take advantage of the available services while supplies last. Pet owners should ensure animals are properly leashed or secured in carriers.
