SAN ANTONIO (October 13, 2026) – District 1 Councilmember Dr. Sukh Kaur will host a joint town hall for District 1 residents on Thursday, October 15, alongside Congressman Joaquin Castro, State Senator José Menéndez, and State Representative Diego Bernal. The event will take place at San Pedro Playhouse, located at 800 West Ashby Place, from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

The town hall will provide residents with an opportunity to hear directly from their local, state, and federal representatives about the issues affecting communities across San Antonio and how different levels of government can work together to address them. A question-and-answer session will allow residents to engage directly with their elected officials, ask questions, and raise issues important to their families and neighborhoods.

Discussion topics will include property taxes, housing, immigration, transportation, and education, as well as opportunities for increased collaboration among local, state, and federal offices.

“Our residents deserve to know what their representatives are doing, how decisions at every level of government affect their daily lives, and where we can work together to deliver results,” said Councilmember Kaur. “This town hall is an opportunity to have an open conversation, listen directly to our community, and strengthen the partnerships needed to address the issues facing District 1.”

“From investing in infrastructure and revitalizing downtown to improving access to healthcare and lowering costs, I look forward to hearing from District 1 residents on what matters to them. Thank you, Councilmember Kaur, for organizing this forum about the ways we can work across every level of government to get things done for San Antonians,” said Congressman Castro.
