D7 Invites Community to Police Chief’s Farewell Celebration

SAN ANTONIO (August 11, 2026) – District 7 Councilmember Marina Alderete Gavito is inviting residents to join her and council colleagues from across the city in celebrating San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus and thanking him for his many years of service to San Antonio.

The Farewell Celebration for Chief William McManus will be held on Tuesday, August 11, from 6 – 8 p.m. at St. Paul's Hall, 1201 Donaldson Ave., 78228.

The evening will honor the Chief's legacy of leadership and dedication to keeping our community safe. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Acting Police Chief Jesse Salame. All are welcome.

Councilmember Alderete Gavito stated, "Chief McManus gave this city years of steady, dedicated leadership, and San Antonio is safer for it. I hope neighbors will join us to thank him, wish him well, and welcome interim Chief Salame as we look ahead."
