D4 Councilmember Invites Residents to Help Shape the Anticipated 2027

Community workshops will be held on August 5 & 10.
SAN ANTONIO (August 4, 2026) – The District 4 Council Office will host two community workshops this August to gather feedback from constituents ahead of the City of San Antonio's anticipated 2027 Bond Program. These workshops focus on three corridors in District 4: Zarzamora, Somerset Road, and Ray Ellison Blvd. The District 4 Councilmember wants community members to make their voice heard early in the anticipated 2027 Bond process, so the workshops are designed for District 4 residents to help shape that conversation from the beginning, before any projects are selected.
Residents are invited to attend either or both events.

Each workshop will open with brief remarks from Councilmember Mungia, followed by hands-on activity stations where residents can mark concerns directly on corridor maps, weigh in on which types of projects matter most to them, and help think through how limited bond dollars might be prioritized. Bilingual staff and materials will be available throughout, and a kids' corner will encourage younger residents to share their perspectives on community vision.
“The residents who use our busiest corridors deserve an opportunity to provide their input long before any potential projects are identified,” stated the District 4 Councilmember. “We have an obligation to work collaboratively so that we can manage expectations effectively and carefully plan out projects with community voices at the forefront.”
These community workshops have been organized in collaboration with Rifeline. Input gathered at both workshops will be compiled into a summary report for the District 4 Council Office, helping identify the District 4 priorities that matter most to residents ahead of the anticipated 2027 Bond Program. Identifying these priorities early and building community-backed projects increases the opportunity to strengthen them and maximize benefits across multiple projects.
While the timeline for the anticipated 2027 Bond Program has not yet been finalized, District 4 residents are encouraged to get involved now, so their priorities are on the record early, well before key decisions are made.
