SAN ANTONIO (August 27, 2026) – Councilmembers Marina Alderete Gavito (District 7) and Marc K. Whyte (District 10) filed a joint Council Consideration Request (CCR) asking the City Manager’s Office to study creating a single, centralized website for all of San Antonio’s public data dashboards and datasets. City departments currently maintain dozens of dashboards separately, making them hard for residents to find.

The CCR asks that the dashboard organize information by policy area, such as public safety, infrastructure, and housing, rather than by department.

Councilmember Alderete Gavito stated, “Transparency has been a major focus of mine during my tenure on San Antonio City Council. Access to City information should not depend on knowing which department to call or which webpage to search. This dashboard puts it in one place, in plain language, for anyone who wants to look or needs it. This is about keeping residents informed and City government accountable.”

Councilmember Whyte remarked, “The City has great data and resources, but right now they’re scattered across dozens of different department webpages. Residents deserve an easy-to-use, centralized dashboard that brings all of this information together in one place. This CCR will ensure residents get the transparency and accountability they expect from their local government.”

The CCR has been referred to the Governance Committee for consideration.
