Councilmember Whyte Requests Public Safety Impact Analysis for Sports and Entertainment District

SAN ANTONIO (May 29, 2025) – Councilmember Marc Whyte has formally requested that the City of San Antonio conduct a comprehensive Public Safety Impact Analysis for the proposed Sports and Entertainment District. The request emphasizes the importance of evaluating public safety implications prior to any final approvals or construction of the proposed project.

“Given the proposed scope of the Sports and Entertainment District and its potential impact on neighborhoods, infrastructure, and emergency services, we must ensure our community is protected and our City departments are prepared,” said Councilmember Whyte, underscoring the importance of transparency and proactive planning to maintain public trust and safety throughout the proposed project’s development. “The proposed analysis would address risk identification, impacts on emergency response systems, community safety considerations, and coordination among key City departments, including SAPD, SAFD, and Public Works.”
