Councilmember Marks First 100 Days in District 6

SAN ANTONIO (October 1, 2025) – District 6 Councilmember Ric Galvan shares a recap of accomplishments from the first 100 days in office, emphasizing progress on residents’ top priorities: infrastructure, housing, public safety, and support for working families.
“From day one, our goal has been simple: listen to our neighbors and deliver results that matter to their everyday lives,” said Councilmember Galvan. “These first 100 days are just the beginning of our commitment to building safer neighborhoods, stronger families, and a more connected District 6.”
Constituent Services & Community Engagement
- Handled more than 100 resident cases, helping families navigate city services.
- Spent over 90 hours block walking, attending neighborhood meetings, and hosting community events.
- The Councilmember personally attended 22 HOA/NA meetings, with staff representing District 6 at an additional 27.
Animal Care Services Collaboration
- Strengthened Hill Country flood relief efforts through support of ACS volunteer initiative.
- Celebrated National Cat Day at ACS to highlight adoption and City services.
- Coordinated enforcement sweeps in neighborhoods to address residents’ concerns about roaming pets.
Infrastructure Improvements
- Completed new sidewalks on Sageline St. and Westlawn, improving walkability.
- Preserved over 20 District 6 streets through pavement sealant projects.
- Initiated speed bump applications in response to community safety requests.
- Continued drainage maintenance across Culebra and Leon Creek to mitigate flood risks.
Affordable Housing
- Celebrated the grand opening of Vista at Reed, providing affordable housing with supportive services for working families.
Community Support
- Volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, helping prepare more than 12,500 pounds of food (10,000+ meals).
- Hosted the District 6 Blood Drive with 32 donors, supporting lifesaving care across San Antonio.
The Councilmember reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, equity, and community-driven decision-making.
