Comment on Fatal Incidents of Intimate Partner Violence
The Collaborative Commission on Domestic Violence expresses its sympathy and support.
SAN ANTONIO (June 23, 2026) – The Collaborative Commission on Domestic Violence (CCDV) extends our deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and communities grieving the lives lost in the recent acts of violence that occurred on June 17 and June 19. We also extend our thoughts and support to the law enforcement officer injured in the June 19 incident, and to all first responders who continue serving our community during these difficult and traumatic events.
As we mourn these tragic losses and injuries, we stand with those impacted and reaffirm our commitment to preventing violence, supporting our community, and fostering a safer San Antonio for all. These events remind us that intimate partner violence impacts everyone. The solutions are not simple because the circumstances are often complex.
The CCDV was established to formally convene local leaders in government, the judiciary, law enforcement, prosecution, non-profits, education, and health care organizations to improve the domestic violence prevention and response system in Bexar County. As we continue to partner across the community in this endeavor, our members are available to provide interviews regarding domestic violence dynamics, resources, and local laws and processes, such as protective orders, bonds, and firearm surrender policies.
People affected by intimate partner or family violence can find assistance by calling Family Violence Prevention Services, 24/7, at 210-733-8810, or by visiting FVPS.org. For an emergency, call or text 911.
Anyone who experiences mental health challenges or emotional distress can call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
