SAN ANTONIO (May 9, 2025) – The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture, in partnership with the San Antonio Police Department and Council District 1, has announced the completion of “Let’s…,” a new public art series by local artist Elizabeth Carrington. The installation is located at the San Antonio Police Substation at 2020 N. St. Mary’s St.
“This artwork reflects the heart of our community, embodying our shared values, diverse cultures, and the spirit of North St. Mary’s,” said Police Chief William McManus. “It highlights the positive relationship between the police department and the residents it serves.”
“Let’s…” features four colorful panels that reflect the architectural character, native plant life and vibrant community spirit of the N. St. Mary’s Street corridor. The panels are installed at street level and at the entrance to the substation, paying tribute to the cultural identity and energy of this historic San Antonio neighborhood.
“It’s deeply meaningful to have my work become part of such a wonderful neighborhood,” said artist Elizabeth Carrington. “The colors, symbols and imagery on these panels reflect my style and celebrate the unique energy and culture, and the powerful sense of safety and connection that permeates North St. Mary’s. I hope the artwork feels like it belongs here, and that people see a bit of themselves—and this special place—within it.”
“The intricate designs on the cut-screen steel panels invite both residents and visitors to reflect on what it means to be part of San Antonio,” said Krystal Jones, director of the Department of Arts & Culture. “Each colorful panel features unique symbols and motifs that capture the spirit of the neighborhood—from the energy of live music to the bonds of community and friendship.”
