SAN ANTONIO (January 30, 2026) – In preparation for another drop in temperatures, the City of San Antonio will open overnight temporary shelter at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, and remain open through 8 a.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to provide shelter to neighbors experiencing homelessness.

The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures will drop below freezing beginning Friday night. The City will provide temporary overnight shelter in addition to sheltering provided by six other homeless response agencies.

The City's Homeless Outreach Team and Community Connections Hotline (210-207-1799) will operate 24 hours beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday to connect unsheltered neighbors with resources, including transportation and cold-weather supplies, if shelter is declined.
