SAN ANTONIO (July 15, 2026) — City crews, emergency responders and utility workers are continuing cleanup and recovery efforts after a tornado and severe weather caused significant damage across northwest San Antonio Wednesday morning.

No injuries were reported.

The storm affected areas near the University of Texas at San Antonio (UT San Antonio), the Rim, Camp Bullis, Crown Ridge, and the Dominion. Damage reported throughout the area includes downed trees, roof and storefront damage, damaged signs and scattered debris.

The most significant structural damage occurred at the Oasis Apartments, 6023 UTSA Blvd., where a large section of the roof was torn from the building and three fourth-floor units were affected.

The American Red Cross is available to assist displaced residents with immediate needs. Residents needing assistance can call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

The public should report any damage and loss to property due to the severe weather event. Residents can submit a detailed self-assessment survey online via the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT). The City will provide collection service to residents in the specific areas affected by the severe weather. Debris should be placed at the curb of the residential address, clear of vehicles or other obstructions.

The City has removed 57 trees from the areas impacted by storms this week, including 34 trees today. Staff has barricaded 20 low-water crossings as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, and will continue monitoring conditions overnight.

San Antonio remains under a Flash Flood Watch through Thursday evening, July 16. While the current tornado threat has diminished, additional storms are expected across the area. Residents should continue monitoring weather alerts. The public is urged to avoid damaged areas, flooded roadways, and downed power lines.

Residents needing help with debris, downed trees or a property damage assessment should call 3-1-1.

Anyone who encounters a downed power line should stay away and report it to CPS Energy at 210-353-HELP (4357). Residents who smell gas should immediately move to a safe location, call 911, and contact CPS Energy at 210-353-HELP (4357).
