SAN ANTONIO (May 9, 2023) —This week, the City of San Antonio is honoring its over 12,500 employees for their service and commitment as part of Public Service Recognition Week. This annual recognition, which falls on the first full week of May, acknowledges the invaluable contributions of government employees at the local, state, county, and federal levels.

"We owe a debt of gratitude to our dedicated City employees who work tirelessly to keep San Antonio running smoothly and provide essential services to our residents," said Mayor Nirenberg. "Their commitment to public service is truly admirable and deserving of recognition during Public Service Recognition Week and beyond."

City employees make up 43 departments performing a wide range of duties across various fields including public safety, health, sanitation, library services, planning, recreation, and animal care.
