City Announces Juneteenth Schedule of City Services

SAN ANTONIO (June 16, 2026) — City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. Police, fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will remain in operation. Other City services will operate as follows:

Police, Fire, & EMS

Personnel will be on duty

General Services

  • 3-1-1 Call Center will be operational from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and from 5 - 11 p.m. for urgent animal concerns and traffic signal malfunctions.
  • Animal Care Officers will be on duty.
  • Code Enforcement Officers will be available for emergency coverage.
  • Downtown parking visitors will enjoy an on-street parking meter holiday (this does not apply to off-street City-operated garages and lots).
  • City parks and trails will be open.
  • Preseason Pools will be open on Juneteenth, Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1-7 p.m., as weather permits. For a list of pools, visit the Swimming Pools Directory - City of San Antonio.
  • Pre-K 4 SA South Center will be open for Summer Programming, and Infant & Toddler Classrooms will be open. All other Pre-K 4 SA Centers and Corporate Offices will be closed.

Waste Collection & Drop Off

  • Garbage, recycling, and organics will have normal collections all week.
  • Bitters Brush site at 1800 Wurzbach Parkway, will be closed.
  • All four Bulky Waste drop-off centers, and the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center (Bitters, Frio City Road, Rigsby, and Culebra) will be closed.
