City Announces April 3 Schedule of City Services

SAN ANTONIO (March 30, 2026) — City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of a City holiday. Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will continue to operate as usual. Other City services will run on adjusted schedules, as outlined below:

Police, Fire & EMS

  • Personnel will be on duty.

General Services 

  • The 3-1-1 Call Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours from 5 to 11 p.m. for urgent animal concerns and traffic signal issues. 
  • Animal Care Officers will be on duty. 
  • Code Enforcement Officers will be available for inspections and emergency needs. 
  • On-street parking meters downtown will be free for the day (this does not apply to City-operated garages and parking lots). 
  • City parks and trails will remain open. 
  • A limited number of Fitness in the Park classes will still take place.

Garbage & Recycling Collection & Drop Off

  • Garbage, recycling, and organics collections will run on their normal schedule all week. 
  • Curbside brush and bulky item pickup will follow the schedule listed on door hangers at each address. 
  • The Bitters Brush site (1800 Wurzbach Parkway) will be open. 
  • All four bulky waste drop-off centers and the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center (Bitters, Frio City Rd., Rigsby, and Culebra) will be open.

  • All Metro Health clinics and offices
  • San Antonio Municipal Court
  • San Antonio Police Department’s (SAPD) Administration and Records Section
