SAN ANTONIO (May 13, 2026) – A second round of “Bottle Baby 101” classes to educate would-be pet fosters will be held this weekend at San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) on Sunday, May 17, one at 10 a.m. and another at noon.
The shelter continues to see litters of newborn puppies and kittens come in from the community. “Bottle Baby 101” will cover the basics of neonatal care, including life-saving bottle feeding, warming, and handling techniques for pets too young to survive on their own. With spring marking the start of the shelter’s busiest season, the hands-on workshop is designed to equip fosters and animal lovers with the skills to help the tiniest tummies.
Class attendees will have the chance to sign up to foster pets in need and meet several litters that are searching for foster heroes. The free classes are open to the entire community and will take place at SAACS, located at 4710 State Highway 151.
Residents are urged to use the City’s numerous free and low-cost spay-neuter options to prevent unwanted litters. Resource listings are available at SAACS.info/SpayNeuter.
