SAN ANTONIO (July 11, 2025) – The 3rd Annual District 3 Neighborhood Symposium was held this week where Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran joined neighborhood association leaders and delivered a message of unity, civic engagement, and deep appreciation for the residents, local leaders, neighbors, and advocates who help shape the future of San Antonio’s South and Southeast sides. “Your presence reflects a strong commitment to our community. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a safer, stronger, and more connected District 3.” Neighborhood associations and homeowners associations hold important roles in maintaining, advocating, and improving the quality of life in their communities. The symposium was hosted by the Highland Hills Neighborhood Association.Dr. Hinojosa, the Association President, received recognition from the Councilwomen for his continued leadership and dedication in fostering community connection and collaboration. With ongoing City budget discussions for FY 2026, District 3 also thanked constituents for submitting their budget surveys and assured them of the commitment to advocate for resources that reflect District 3’s priorities. These include public safety, infrastructure improvements, animal care, and addressing homelessness. “Your input through budget cards, workshops, town halls, and direct communication with our office is what drives meaningful change,” Councilwoman Viagran said. “You are the first to raise critical issues, and your engagement helps us find real solutions.” For more information on how to begin a Neighborhood Association, residents can visit the Association and Organization Registry website.
