Animal Care Services and Petco Host Community Pet Adoption Event This Weekend

SAN ANTONIO (February 26, 2026) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is partnering with Petco to host a pop-up event this weekend, bringing adoptable dogs directly into the community and making it easier than ever for residents to choose adoption. The adoption event will take place on Saturday, February 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Petco store (18138 San Pedro).

Would-be pet parents can meet a variety of adoptable dogs ready for loving homes. The $25 adoption fee includes sterilization, a registered microchip, vaccinations, and access to shelter trainers for the life of the pet.

In addition, residents can connect with current SAACS foster parents to learn more about the lifesaving program and how temporary homes play such a critical role in saving lives and supporting pets in need.

This weekend’s adoption pop-up is part of an ongoing SAACS effort with community partners to promote the benefits of pet adoption, reduce shelter overcrowding, and strengthen neighborhood connections.
