Animal Care Services Rings in Yuletide with Home for the Howlidays

SAN ANTONIO (December 16, 2025) – The season of second chances is shining bright with Home for the Howlidays at San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS). The two-day holiday-themed pet adoption event is slated for December 20 and 21 from noon to 5 p.m. at the City shelter. The weekend-long celebration includes San Antonio’s first “snowfall,” free photos with Santa, $25 pet adoptions, live music, food trucks, a holiday market, kid-friendly activities, and free parking with trolley service to and from the event.

For those looking to get a head start on finding their perfect match, SAACS is offering a VIP Early Access experience for just $25, giving attendees the first opportunity to meet adoptable pets before general admission begins. Residents can sign up at saacs.info/earlyaccess.       

This year’s event will also include a “Buy Local” element in partnership with San Antonio’s Economic Development Department, reinforcing the City’s ongoing efforts to support local businesses and entrepreneurs. Woven into the seasonal décor, vendors with Buy Local signs will have limited edition “Buy Local” swag for attendees while supplies last. Attendees can even get presents purchased at the event wrapped for free at the holiday gift wrapping station.

SAACS reminds residents that adopting a pet should be a thoughtful decision year-round and encourages choosing a companion animal that truly matches their family and lifestyle.
