Animal Care Services Paw-Changa Event Marks the Return of Fiesta

SAN ANTONIO (April 7, 2026) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is kicking off the Fiesta season with the shelter’s annual Pawchanga adoption festival, slated for Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 4710 State Highway 151 near the San Antonio Food Bank.

This family-friendly event features free general admission, hundreds of adoptable pets, live music all weekend, Fiesta foodie faves, and a vibrant artisan market, all designed to help pets find loving homes while offering something for everyone. The event will include the following.

  • Hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
  • Live music both days.
  • An artisan market featuring local vendors.
  • Hands-on crafts, including custom pet accessories.
  • Paws on Parade at 12:15 p.m.
  • Loteria with great prizes.
  • Food trucks and refreshments.
  • Family-friendly activities, including putt-putt.

VIP early access passes, available for just $50, give residents extra time to meet their new pet before the crowds arrive. The fee includes one adoption. VIP passes can be purchased at SAACS.info/pawchanga. Free parking will be available for festival goers at Pre-K 4 SA West (1235 Old Highway 90 West, 78227) with complimentary trolley service to and from the event.

Pawchanga is made possible through partnerships with community organizations, including SNIPSA, San Antonio Pets Alive!, Animal Defense League of Texas and Footbridge Foundation.
