Animal Care Services Needs Adopters to Empty the Shelters

SAN ANTONIO (April 30, 2025) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation for Empty the Shelters, a reduced fee adoption event from May 1 - May 15. Adoption fees for dogs and cats will be reduced to $25 for the entire two-week event, which aims to save the lives of shelter pets by placement and easing overcrowding. 

Through the foundation’s support, participating organizations also receive a lifesaving donation for every pet they can place with a new family—those funds go right back into helping even more dogs and cats in the shelter.  

Empty the Shelters at San Antonio Animal Care Services 

• May 1 - May 15
• Dog or cat adoptions for $25
• Adoptions are seven days a week on a first-come, first-served basis
• Standard adoption processes and policies apply
• SAACS is located at 4710 State Hwy 151

All pets adopted from SAACS are sterilized, vaccinated with their first round of shots, and microchipped with a free lifetime registration. These pets are eligible for free lifetime training advice and classes from SAACS trainers.
