Animal Care Services Launches Humane Pet Care Awareness Campaign

SAN ANTONIO (May 12, 2025) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) wants pet guardians to ensure their companion animals are safe, fixed, and loved. SAACS has kicked off a multi-faceted awareness campaign that highlights both public safety and positive outcomes for shelter pets. 

The summer-long campaign will feature grassroots public outreach, digital and traditional billboards, as well as other promotional materials offering community-driven solutions. Engagement teams will host pop-up resource giveaways in local neighborhoods, while colorful digital displays will be emblazoned with a heartfelt “Hey SA!” to inspire people to help pets in need. Traditional roadside billboards urge pet sterilization and neighborhood safety with slogans like 'It’s an Easy Fix, SA!'—implying even our pets don’t want unwanted litters, a message echoed in Spanish ads.

The campaign follows the recent opening of the SAACS Spay Neuter Clinic-West, a free pet sterilization hub for San Antonio residents off Castroville Road, with a second City-run clinic set to open on the City’s Eastside by month’s end.
