SAN ANTONIO (March 12, 2026) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) will host a Sunday Funday event this weekend, offering fee-waived adoptions to help more shelter pets find homes during the busy spring intake season. San Antonio Pets Alive! will join in the adoption push Sunday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pets in their on-campus kennels as well. The event will be held at the municipal shelter located at 4710 State Highway 151.

Residents will be given an opportunity to meet dozens of adoptable dogs and welcome a new companion into their homes while helping provide space for animals who continue to arrive at the shelter. All adopted pets leave the shelter spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and new  SAACS adopters receive access to SAACS training resources for the life of the pet.

Community adoption events like Sunday Funday help connect families with pets ready for homes while supporting the shelter’s ongoing efforts to move more animals from kennel to couch. Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as pets often find homes quickly during adoption events.
