SAN ANTONIO (March 6, 2026) - San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting two community pet adoption events this weekend, giving residents twice the opportunity to find a new animal companion. Adoptable dogs will be available Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PetSmart store located at 6055 La Cima. On Sunday, March 8, the shelter will host a pop-up adoption event at Basila Frocks at 502 N. Zarzamora to mark the opening of La Casita de Firulais Co.

Would-be pet parents can meet a variety of adoptable dogs ready for loving homes. The $25 adoption fee includes sterilization, a registered microchip, vaccinations, and access to shelter trainers for the life of the pet.

In addition to meeting adoptable dogs, residents will also be able to connect with current SAACS foster parents to learn more about the lifesaving program and how temporary homes play such a critical role in saving lives and supporting pets in need.

This weekend’s adoption events are part of an ongoing SAACS effort with community partners to promote the benefits of pet adoption, reduce shelter overcrowding, and strengthen neighborhood connections.
