Animal Care Services Hosts $25 Holiday Weekend Adoptions

SAN ANTONIO (September 4, 2026) – Looking for a friend to spend the long holiday weekend with? San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is offering $25 pet adoptions throughout Labor Day weekend, starting Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6. SAACS is located at 4710 State Highway 151. The city shelter will be closed on Monday, September 7, for the City’s observance of Labor Day.

Hundreds of dogs and cats are waiting to meet their new families, and would-be adopters can also try a fun new way to find their perfect match through “Fetch a Friend,” a quirky matchmaking quiz available at the shelter. Visitors scan a QR code and answer a few practical and personality-based questions, which generates a customized list of available dogs whose personalities and needs match the adopter’s preferences. Visitors can head directly to the kennels to meet their suggested matches!

Even residents who are not ready to adopt just yet can help a pet in need by sharing the adoption special with friends and family or becoming a "temporary pet parent" via fostering. San Antonio Animal Care Services is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends at 4710 State Highway 151. Standard processes and policies apply, and adoptions are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
