23 Outdoor City Pools Opening for Summer Season

Morning and evening pool hours will be available.


SAN ANTONIO (June 10, 2026) – San Antonio Parks and Recreation announces the opening of 23 outdoor pools beginning Saturday, June 20, 2026. All outdoor pools are free and open to the public. Extended hours will continue at each pool this summer, with select pools offering earlier swim times. All pools will be open six days a week, including weekends, with a closure day that varies by location. Cassiano Pool is closed for construction.

The June 20 opening kicks off the City’s regular pool season, which will continue until mid-August. Seven pre-season pools opened on May 23, 2026, with weekend hours. Select extended season pools will remain open into September. The Atanacio Garcia Natatorium, a public indoor pool facility, is open year-round. Seven splash pads opened in March, with hours from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. until October. 

Outdoor aquatics programming includes group swim lessons, senior swim, and aqua fitness classes – all at no cost. Special notes from the table above are listed below.

*Senior Swim at Southside Lions takes place from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

**Lap Swim at Woodlawn Lake takes place from 7:30-9:30 a.m. from Tuesdays through Fridays.

In addition to the City’s pools, Parks and Recreation has partnered with local organizations to offer free Community Swim Days:
