$0 Adoptions This Weekend at Animal Care Services

SAN ANTONIO (August 13, 2026) – The second week of the Clear the Shelters adoption initiative is underway at San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS), with $0 adoptions this Friday, August 14, to Sunday, August 16. Sponsored locally by Telemundo and NBCUniversal, the nationwide campaign aims to find hundreds of homes for shelter pets.

Would-be adopters can also try a fun new way to find their perfect match through “Fetch a Friend,” a quirky matchmaking quiz available at the shelter. Visitors scan a QR code and answer a few practical and personality-based questions. The quiz then produces a customized list of available dogs whose personalities and needs match the adopter’s preferences. Visitors can head directly to the kennels to meet their suggested matches seven days a week. 

Animal Care Services is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Standard processes and policies apply, and adoptions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. SAACS is located at 4710 State Highway 151.
