Your submitter must be a past or present academic instructor, mentor, coach or teacher. Their letter must:

• Be 8½ x 11 page in length
• Be on institutional letterhead
• Be typed and double-spaced
• Bear the applicant’s full name

Their letter should include the following information:

• Your current academic ability or status
• Any services to society
• Challenges you've overcome
• Leadership skills
• Community/school activity participation 

Your essay or poem must:

• Be 8½ x 11 page in length
• Be typed and double-spaced
• Bear the applicant’s full name
• Be limited to 2 pages

Essay

Pick an area of interest relating to the San Antonio community and provide insight on where you think we should be making progress and prospering as a community. Share your ambitions and how you plan to include the aspirations and needs of others in your life in the future.

Poem

Create an original poem inspired by any César E. Chávez Quotes. Samples are below:
