March for Justice

Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice, A San Antonio Tradition since 1997! Join us for the 29th annual Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Co-Sponsored by the City of San Antonio, The Cesar Chavez March for Justice is organized by The Cesar E. Chavez Legacy & Educational Foundation. Today, the organization is led by Ernest J. Martinez,the son of CECLEF’s founder, the late Jaime P. Martinez.

Today, thousands march together in unity to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez. The march attracts all parts of the community to include:

• youth organizations
• university student groups
• employer diversity groups
• non-profit organizations
• labor organizations

Schedule of Events

• 9:00 A.M. (Morning Stage): Morning Program and Speakers at the Intersection of Guadalupe and Brazos next to Guadalupe Theater (1301 Guadalupe St)
• 10:00 A.M.: March steps off for Hemisfair Civic Park 
• 11:15 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.: Celebration at Hemisfair with Music - Food Trucks On Site – Special Guest Speakers

Participation

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable tennis shoes and prepare for hot weather. The event is pet-friendly.

The march is 2 miles long, with water stations available at the halfway point, located at Flores and Cesar Chavez Blvd. (in front of the HEB), provided by the VIA Cares Volunteer Team. Portable restrooms and handwashing stations will be available at both the start and end of the route.

There will be complimentary park and ride provided by VIA Metropolitan Transit from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU),

Participants can use parking lots B, C, D1 and D2 on the west campus for parking.

Return Service

Return service will be offered until 2:30 p.m. from Civic Park back to OLLU. VIA buses will pick attendees up along Market Street.
