SAN ANTONIO (February 8, 2023) – The City of San Antonio Department of Human Services is accepting applications for the 2023 Ambassador Summer Internship Program for currently enrolled college students.
The Ambassador Summer Internship connects students to professional opportunities through paid internships (at a rate of $17.50 per hour), development workshops, and networking events. In-person, hybrid and virtual internships are offered. The program begins with an orientation on June 8; internships begin June 12 and end Aug. 4.
Participants who took part in past partnerships provided testimonials to their experience in end-of-program surveys, commenting:
- “I feel like my entire summer was a success, and I was able to work on two different projects.”
- “A proud moment for me was when my supervisor told me they did not know what they would do without me because I was assisting them so much.”
To be eligible, students must be a San Antonio high school graduate or attend a university in San Antonio, be a permanent resident of San Antonio, obtain at least a 2.5 grade point average, complete at least one full year (two semesters) of college, and be currently enrolled.
Additionally, the City continues its commitment to improving the educational and career outcomes of former foster youth through the enhanced Ambassador Program for former foster youth, who are encouraged to apply; and all majors are welcome.
