District 8 Councilman Officially Opens New Field Office

SAN ANTONIO (June 1, 2023) — After months of planning and coordination, the District 8 Field Office has officially relocated from inside the John Igo Library to an office in the South Texas Medical Center. The new space is part of a collaboration with UT Health San Antonio, as the office is located inside a UT Health San Antonio building.

District 8 Councilman Manny Pelaez thanked UT Health San Antonio and hailed the partnership as being especially significant given the Medical Center’s importance to the district and San Antonio as a whole. 

“In addition to providing care—the Medical Center employs tens of thousands of people, leads the way in research and development, trains the next generation of healthcare workers, and welcomes more than 5 million visitors annually,” the Councilman said. “It is a place to learn, work, heal, live, and thrive–and we look forward to welcoming our neighbors to our new office located conveniently from IH-10 and in one of our most critical corridors.”
