District 5 Preps for the New School Year with a Back-to-School Fair

SAN ANTONIO (August 1, 2023) — On Saturday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, District 5 will host a Back-to-School fair at Burbank High School (1002 Edwards, 78204) to support students heading into the 2023-2024 school year. 

“This time of year is always special for the District 5 Office, as it is an opportunity to support our District 5 families,” Councilwoman Teri Castillo continued, “Join us this Saturday, and get set to kick off a great 2023-2024 school year by collecting school supplies and resources for the whole family.” 

District 5 students, parents, and caregivers are welcome to attend and receive backpacks, school supplies, and resources from the following City and community organizations: 

• San Antonio Parks & Recreation
• City of San Antonio Head Start
• Metro Health Immunizations
• San Antonio Police Department
• San Antonio Fire Department
• Ready to Work 
• Department of Human Services
• House of Neighborly Service
• San Antonio Food Bank
• The Gonzaba Foundation
• Clinical Trials of Texas
• Pre-K 4 SA
• Impacto Comunitario
• Texas Rising
• San Antonio Vascular and Endovascular Clinic (SAVE)
• Healthy Beats

Students must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies. Supplies available on a first come, first serve basis until supplies last.
