Survey begins on 3-11 Day, March 11-March 24

SAN ANTONIO (March 10, 2023) — The City of San Antonio is celebrating National 3-11 Day by asking the community for feedback on its new 311 virtual assistant voice. National 3-11 Day is an annual reminder that 311 is a resource for communities across the country to connect with their city and non-emergency services. The virtual assistant will welcome residents when they call the City’s 311 Customer Service line. The City is committed to providing exceptional customer service, and part of that commitment is ensuring the voice of its new virtual assistant reflects its community.

Starting on March 11, residents are invited to visit the online survey at SASpeakUp.com/New311Voice to listen to the voices and make their selections. To suit the voice, the survey also asks residents to give their input on a name for the new virtual assistant. The survey will be available through noon on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Launched in April 2000, City of San Antonio’s 311 is one of the oldest 311 non-emergency lines in the country. It fields nearly 800,000 calls yearly and is the first point of contact for residents in need of City services and information. Aside from the 311 phone line, residents can also connect with the City for help though the 311 online portal and 311SA mobile app.

"Our 311 virtual assistant's voice should represent the community we serve, and we want our residents to help us select the best option" said Paula Stallcup, 311 Customer Service Director. “We encourage everyone to participate in the survey and have fun sharing their feedback."
