2025 Artist Grantees Announced

Thirty San Antonio artists receive a total of $262,500 in grants for new projects.


SAN ANTONIO (September 23, 2024) — Today, the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture unveiled 30 San Antonio-based artists selected to receive grants of $7,500 or $15,000 as part of its Artist Grants program. 

“This new tiered approach allows us to support individual artists as well as projects with significant scale including collaborations, collectives or ensembles,” Department of Arts & Culture Director Krystal Jones said. “We are excited about the diverse and dynamic programming that will result and invite all to discover the talented artists we have in our community.”

Aimed to support a diverse portfolio of artists working across San Antonio, the grants support the production of new, original and high-quality art to be publicly debuted over the next 18 months. From 2022 to 2024, more than 120 projects were completed with the support of the department’s artist grants. The grantees range in discipline including Literary Arts, Media Arts, Multi-Disciplinary Arts, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The 30 artists receiving this round of grants are:

This competitive grant program is administered with equity as a priority. Grant applications were evaluated by a panel of experts in each artistic discipline with additional equity impact points assigned to artists who represent communities of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, non-binary, veterans, and/or those living or operating their studio in a census tract that is historically disadvantaged as shown on the City of San Antonio’s Equity Atlas.
